Sign Up for Ice Maintenance

How to sign up:

1. Select Service – either Scrape, Pebble and Nip, or Pebble and Nip
2. On the calendar, click on the date. Wait a few seconds.
3. One or more time slots will show below the calendar. Select time.
4. Enter your Personal Information. In Additional Info note if you can pebble.
5. Click Submit
6. You will see a confirmation message after a few seconds.
7. You can check below for bookings so far – select the date and then click Go.
8. If you need to change or cancel your schedule, you can use the link on the confirmation email, or contact Mike at (506) 634-7656 or tsa@nb.aibn.com.

Note:  There are two (2) spots available per shift for ice maintenance.  The work will go much faster with two helpers.  The remaining spots are shown after the time.

Ice Maintenance volunteers during the curling season (excluding initial installation and removal) would receive credits towards their membership dues for the following curling season as follows:

• Each Scrape/Pebble/Nip (SPN) would receive a credit of $40 towards the following year membership dues.
• Each Pebble/Nip (PN) would receive a credit of $10 towards the following year membership dues.
• The above incentives are estimated to cost the club approximately $4400 annually which is calculated as follows:
• There are 20 weeks in the curling season which require 5 PN per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) for a total of 100 PN requiring 2 persons for a cost of $2,000 annually (100 x 2 x $10).
• SPN is also carried out by volunteers on the weekends, once on Saturday and twice on Sunday, for a total of 3 times per week for 20 weeks.  This is done by one person for a total of 60 SPN per season, or $2400 (60 x $40).

Whenever we have a spiel that require the Ice Tech to be present on the weekend, alternate days off are awarded to the Ice Tech during the week, therefore volunteer duties are shifted to the weekdays, while maintaining the same number of volunteer hours for the season.  

The above incentives would only apply towards the membership dues and do not apply to the Capital Levy, NBCA dues or locker rental and the incentive is capped at the amount of the membership due.
